On August 12 at the Blaisdell Arena, fan favorite Ray “Braddah” Cooper III (12-3) will take on one of the biggest challenges of his professional career as he faces the veteran fighter Charles “Felony” Bennett (30-33) hailing from Florida for this main event bout. Bennett has been fighting professionally since Braddah was learning to walk, but as Heavyweight Tony Lopez demonstrated on the last X1 card, age is just a gauge of experience and Bennett has been through it all. Braddah is known for his exciting fight to the death mindset and is slated as next big thing coming out of Hawaii. Another win in the X1 cage would be widely respected across the industry, especially as he continues to climb the ranks of dominant fighters sharing the aloha.
“The Molokai Cowboy” Sale Sprout (4-2-) will be making his much awaited return to Oahu for the co-main event against Rafael Brewster (4-0) fighting out of Portland, Oregon. Sproat’s last fight in Honolulu was in 2013, but after shaking off the cage rust in Maui late last year, adding another win to the record, he is ready to remind the fans what they have been missing. The bout will be for the 185 lb X1 World Title.
Undefeated Russell “Da Muscle” Mizuguchi (2-0) may only have a few fights under him as a pro, but his 9-0 amateur record still speaks volumes as to what this Hilo fighter is capable of. He will face off against Michael “Baby Godzilla” Nakagawa (4-2) who is also no stranger to the cage having fought previously for X1 as an amateur before making waves across the west coast as a pro.
The whole card is stacked with local talent who have already proved they are ready for the bright lights, and loud crowds of the Blaisdell Arena. Hawaii MMA is officially on the map and the dot in the center is marked on X1 MMA #48.
Fans in attendance at the Blaisdell will also have the opportunity for a meet and greet with Fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
The event will be aired live on Pay Per View via Spectrum, formally Time Warner Cable.
Filming will not be allowed at the event, so please be aware that you will be unable to stream fights live on facebook, Instagram or any other social media sites. Violations will result in being removed from the premise. Fight Card Subject to Change.
